REIKI with Susan Faber, Reiki Master
Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a “universal energy” is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.
Reiki is based on qi (“chi”), which practitioners say is a universal life force. Reiki is effective along with medical treatments and is not to be replaced as a sole source of healing.
Developed in Japan in 1922 by Mikao Usui, it has been adapted into varying cultural traditions across the world. Mikao Usui (August 1865 – 9 March 1926, commonly Usui Mikao in Japanese) was the founder of a form of spiritual practice known as Reiki, used as an alternative therapy for the treatment of physical, emotional, and mental diseases. According to the inscription on his memorial stone, Usui taught Reiki to over 2000 people during his lifetime. Sixteen of these students continued their training to reach the Shinpiden level, a level equivalent to the Western third degree, or Master level.
Susan Faber has taught all levels of Usui Reiki for over 20 years. She is also a Master Teacher/Practitioner of other forms of Reiki.
